Windsor mortgage guidance

A clearer mortgage plan for Windsor buyers and homeowners.

From downtown condos and riverfront neighbourhoods to growing family homes across the city, Windsor mortgage decisions benefit from a plan that fits your payment, property and next few years.

A useful place to begin

Three things to make clear before you decide.

These are planning prompts, not lending requirements. The details that matter will depend on your property, income, credit, down payment and lender guidelines.

01

Buying in Windsor

Build a purchase plan around your down payment, payment comfort, closing costs and the documentation lenders may need before you focus on a specific property.

02

Renewing or switching

Compare your renewal offer with the term, flexibility, payment and future plans that matter to you - especially if a move or change of property could be ahead.

03

Refinancing thoughtfully

Explore equity access, consolidating debt or renovation financing with the full long-term cost in view, not only the immediate payment.

Around Windsor

The riverfront is only one side of Windsor.

Windsor's central riverfront stretches for more than six kilometres along the Detroit River. Its parks connect gardens, gathering places and views across to Detroit. The Windsor Sculpture Park brings outdoor art to the riverfront between the Ambassador Bridge and Festival Plaza.

Head toward Ojibway Park and the scenery changes again. The Nature Centre introduces visitors to tallgrass prairie and oak savannah, with walking trails into the surrounding natural areas. It is a quieter part of the city that a skyline photo cannot tell you about.

Local insight

Windsor's riverfront gets a lot of love, but daily convenience depends on the neighbourhood. From a home you are considering, try the trip to the places you would use most—groceries, work and a nearby park—at the time you would normally go.
